What I loved most: Err....okla....the actor / actress lineup. Well, most of it
What I really hated: Err....I dunno...the whole movie??!!
i wanted to see this movie becoz Vanidah was in it. But alas, sufficient to say that disappointment is actually an understatement. Jins Shamsuddin; ala Malaysian James Bond back in the 60's looks more like Don Rickles with a case of bad acting. ( What happened Dato??! I loved your acting way back then.) The movie was draggy to the point that I actually went out the cinema for 20 mins and came back still watching the same draggy plot. The so called villains looks more like over acting buffoons than sophisticated drug lords. BTW, what's with the funny hair highlights? This movie is about AIDS?!! I Wish that the writer research abt AIDs patients more thoroughly. I mean Vanidah looks more like having case of the sniffles rather than a bout of AIDS virus. Realism is the keyword here...realism! Overall, well, if you're the type that is easily satisfied with mediocre movies, sure... go on and watch it. However, if you're the type that yearns Malay movies that has sophistication like those back in the heydays. Suffice to say that Akhirat is not even worth buying the bootleg version.
