What I loved most: None
What I really hated: ALL
Following my previous review, I also wish to state that PUUUHHHLLLLEEEEEAAAAAASSSSEEEE do not ever be conned by the picture/ poster released by the media companies for this movie. The forever-think-himself-as-handsome-but-act-with-NO-expression Leon Lai was never in the armour suit. He was not part of the 'empire' army and never appeared technically as a soldier. The only time he wore whatever you guys are seeing in the poster, which looked shiny and 'powderful', was when Donnie recalled a past event to our 'beauty' Kelly Chen. Other than that, he was totally in a commoner's rags and rugged attire. Worse still, I don't even know should I categorically classify him as a 'lead actor' 'cause he seemed much more like a supporting cast to me. Still his NO expression, NO acting and NO emotions display left a significant impression on me. Till the release date of 27/03/2008, savour on my reviews and decide for yourself whether you should like to spend twenty bucks, watch this trashy movie with your friend(s) and be entertained not by the show but by its shallowness and 'cheapness'. Cheerz!

The whole show (and I mean the WHOLE show), is utterly bad. Poor script, poor acting, poor choreography, poor story-flow, poor (or should I say NO) emotions, etc. In elaboration, the show is a poor remake of 'The Warlords' for the fighting scenes and 'Shinwa' for the love story. The title is literally translated as 'Empire and Beauty', but hell no, where is THE beuaty?!!!! Kelly Chen Huiling?!!! Oh my Gawd...she's really really about two thousand miles far from being a beauty. Most to most, she can only be compared with the auntie in my area's wet market selling the Yong Tauhu. Then we have the forever-think-himself-as-handsome-and-act-with-NO-expression Leon Lai. As usual, his trademark acting is NO acting. His trademark expression is NO expression, and his trademark emotion is NO emotion. Haha. How on earth can someone like Him be of an A-class actor? Even a random pick of a male actor from any drama theater or school will do much much better than him. The ONLY pillar supporting the whole show, and alas, I must say the WHOLE show, is none other than Donnie Yen. Still he is far from being good. Only normal and plain in delivering his lines. Of course, there is a scene in the end of the show which 'wanted' to copy what JetLi did in 'The Warlords', i.e. one against a thousand in the battlefield, but Donnie is far from being even close to Jet. This has much to do with the camera-taking and directorship, so I shan't place all the blame on him. The last point of my review is the storyline - it is about a woman who is wiling to forsake the wealth and fortune of the entire country JUST for love (which is a theme older than any prehistoric finding mankind has ever made), just to return for a battle that took about three minutes before the show ends to avenge for her father's death. My Gawd...I was bored to death. Almost. The only thing that saved me was that I didn't watch the show in the cinema. I watched it at home, and a timely CPR that I did on myself saved my last breath from drifting away.
