What I loved most: Jack Black, Mos Def and the rest of the crew

What I really hated: Simple

Be Kind Rewind is a very simple movie with a very simple plot. You basically don't have to think to much when you watch this movie, as most of the dialogue and actions are quite straight forward. This movie revolves around an old and small video rental store by the name of Be Kind Rewind, owned by Mr Fletcher (Danny Glover, the guy who acted beside Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon). Mr Fletcher adopts Mike (Mos Def) and together they run the store. The reason for the name of the store is to remind the patrons to remember to rewind their tapes before returning, as the tapes are still VHS format. Mike's best friend Jerry(Jack Black) visits the store everyday, and they practically do everything together. On one mission to destroy the town's generator, Mike backs out, leaving Jerry behind to finish the task, thus causing Jerry to be accidentally "MAGNETISED". Being magnetised, Jerry accidentally erases all the tapes in the store. Since then many things happen which led the two friends on a funny adventure. They created the term "sweded", which simply means to make your own video. Eventually, all's well ends well. The movie had a happy ending, and Jerry was De-Magnetised after taking a piss. I think this movie got its idea from the people who contributes spoofed videos of movies to YouTube. And together with Michel Gondry, a guy famous for directing MTV's with unique animations, it becomes a movie. Funny and entertaining, this movie is heart warming with a touch of crappiness here and there. (3.5/5 for this movie)

mostly average movie.this movies is abt most def taking over a rent dvd/vcd shop after Mr fletcher went .Jack black then got into an accident where he was magnified which cause the tape to be erased.so jack and def got to make their own version to keep the customers.

This movie shos us that movies can be made with the simples of ideas with the help of willing crazy people! I just reminds me of the old days which movies were made using ad-hoc techniques looking through the eye of the camera and ignoring the restricts of reality. This movie is light and enjoyable and surprizingly not too hollywood. Please rewind becomes more enjoyable if you enjoy the idea of making your own movies.
