Kudos to Ahmad Idham for his fantastic display of horror in this movie.It surpases many of hollywood's stupid rather illogical horror movies; most of which projects screen violence and gore. 'Congkak'-its simple story is comprehensible to people of all ages as it deals with real events of life. Some of us may have encountered eerie experiences while on vacations in lonesome resorts;or newly moved in homes of which dark history is unknown at first. No body gets killed in the movie;the 'ghost' does'nt walk about with a bleeding dagger in hand;nor is any gore being displayed.The suspense is felt as though we were part of the characters. In short it worthwhile watching. Of course there is a slight confusion about the congkak curse and the haunted house..but again it is worth every penny watching. I enjoyed it as much as i enjoyed being freaked out.

What I really hated: Storyline out of scope

This movie has a great intro where they tell us the origin of the game and the rituals they performed etc.. HOWEVER, when it came to the body of the story, it went out of scope. The story was not scary and had nothing to do with the title CONGKAK. It gradually changed to be about the house they bought instead. I think it can be a good movie if the storyline were to be more focused on the title and there were not much scenes of the "guardian" of the congkak and the ending was upsetting. Another dreadful thing was the cameras. They were constantly shaking at certain scenes.

Congkak is the second movie directed by Ahmad idham after the most successful movie in the history Jangan Pandang Belakang.This movie makes big hits in our country and Singapore as well.Oh God,i really have no idea why this movie is well accepted and receives many positive reviews from many people out there.This movie is neither scary nor entertaining.All we get is only lousy and cheap scares accompanied by loud bangs to scare the audiences.Please avoid this movie!!

What I loved most: When the ghost pop up.

What I really hated: nothing.

The movie is really interesting and more scary than 'Jangan Pandang Belakang'. Lisa is the best actress because her make-up is useful and she makes her role a little scarier than the ghost. The most worried part is when some of the family members dissapeared. so.. please watch congkak.
