What I loved most: The two leads
What I really hated: Blatant Product Placements
Feng Xiaogang returns to a simpler setting for his latest, a slow-burning, uncategorizable romance/comedy (that's not a romcom), but navigates some nicely tricky emotional territory. Ge You and Shu Qi are convincing as an unlikely couple, both quietly moving in their way. Perhaps it could stand to be pacier, but it can be argued that the leisurely pace is part of its charm. The only aspect I hated were the far too frequent blatant product placements.
