Jangan Pandang Belakang

What I loved most: When The Opah Said "Your Father." It's So Funny. Hahaha...

What I really hated: When Darma Was Felt Asleep And He Got A Bad Dream. Then The Phone Ring He Picked Up And He Heard The

The show was a bit of scare and a bit of funny. I hate when darma was driving the car and then the ghost follow him. It's kind of stupid when the ghost follow him. The most scared is when darma got a bad dream, when darma carry the ghost and before seri come, the phone and the ghost was behind him at the floor, it's scared me. The funny part is the opah said "your father." Hahaha. I like the story so much.

The movie starts off with an exorcism - and the spirit is shown fleeing the body. Soon after, we see Darma (Pierre Andre) at a meeting and he gets a disturbing call: Rose, his fiancee, has committed suicide. After the funeral, Darma fetches Seri (Intan Ladyana), Rose's twin sister, and their mother home. This is when Seri gets Darma to listen to a voice mail from Rose before her death. In the message, Rose sounds terrified, claiming that there is something haunting her.

Darma and Seri, both not believing that Rose would commit suicide, try to investigate the cause. However, Darma starts feeling that he is haunted by a spirit which, he thinks, was what had haunted Rose. However, after a car accident, he is told by the doctor that he is having hallucinations because of the stress generated by Rose's death. Given a week's leave from work, Darma drives back to his hometown. Little does he know that he is getting closer to finding the truth of his fiancee's death.

The sound effects in this movie are good, startling the audience in many scenes. However, the downside of this is that there seems to be some echo after every dialogue. Is something wrong with the sound system?

The ghost is the usual kind, clad in a white dress with long hair. However, this time around, it does not look human, but a skeleton with a damaged face. It is not really scary, especially when it flies and floats in the air. It is actually funny in a way.

Andre is convincing here as Darma who was traumatised by his fiancee's death. He put up a good performance especially in the scenes where he is haunted by the spirit.

Ladyana, who plays both Rose and Seri, does not have many scenes where she looks terrified and she does not have to show much emotion. She is the one investigating her sister's death alongside Darma. She supports well enough though.

Khatijah Tan is a veteran at playing elders of characters who are possessed. She has done well in "Chermin" but, for this movie, she does not have as much dialogue to make her outstanding. Ruminah Sidek plays Darma's senile grandmother and she brings a light side to the movie, evoking laughter among the audience.

This home-grown horror is not too bad. It will not put you to sleep, but just remember: Don't look behind!
