Maya and Andin are sisters living together after the death of their parents. Since Maya is getting married soon, Andin decides to rent a room on her own. She finds a nice room but like the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover because things are not as nice as it seems. She soon starts seeing a shrouded ghost known as 'Pocong'. She tries telling Maya and others, but nobody seems to believe her. She ends up in a depression and Maya decides to consult a psychic to help Andin but it only causes more harm when they unwillingly angered the 'Pocong' in the process.

What I loved most: great shocking scenes.seriously.

What I really hated: ~no comment~

This movie is freakin scary. after the exams, my MT teacher showed us this movie during MT periods. i can confirm to anyone that i've never screamed this loud while watching a horror movie in my life. seriously, for me, this ghost, the POCONG is very scary & in this movie, its face is really, really scary & not as fake as one can see in some horror movies.i really salute the producer & director of this movie as they've really scared the living daylights out of me & my friends. Great job guys & for those who;ve yet to catch it, please do.i can guarantee u won't regret it~ wee.

What exactly is a pocong? For the benefit of those unfamiliar with Malay folklore, it is a much-chronicled 'species' of ghost that appears to us in a white shroud, much like how Muslims are buried.

Following "Pocong Dendam" which was apparently banned in Indonesia because of 'excessively scary' scenes, you would think this is a new Indonesian phenomenon - the possibility for mediocre horrors to spawn sequels despite its limited appeal. Indeed the spate of Indonesian horrors invading us (think "Suster Ngesot" and "Kuntilanak 2") will convince the industry observers that horrors do have a market that rewards mediocrity.

They do not come any more mediocre than "Pocong 2", Rudy Soetjarwo's very crude and painfully amateurish movie. So basic was this movie, in terms of plot, casting and execution, you would be tempted to dismiss it within the first 20 minutes if you are after those perfectly-shot Korean or Japanese horrors. With it apparently filmed within seven days, you have to give it to Rudy - "Pocong 2" is so incredibly bad, it's actually good!

He pretends nothing when he decides to put the arresting beauty Revalina S. Temat and the young Risty Tagor into an eerie apartment with no other plot other than their pocong encounters making up 90% of the movie. Indeed, sisters Maya and Andin just hang around waiting to be scared - but the execution is so rudimentary, it becomes quite interesting, almost mocking itself.

The dialogue, written by the established Monty Tiwa, is an absolute delight. Dashes of black humour are generous (the girl says things like "We weren't disturbed by any ghosts - but there was an Amway salesman yesterday though") and provide the best redeeming element in "Pocong", not to mention what another reviewer describes as 'faux-philosophica'. These conversations are either unbelievable, unrefined or unavoidably funny! The same sometimes can be said about the horror because so little effort is intentionally made. Cheap scares never felt so good in a cinema before.

To its detriment, the movie does try to become more serious towards the end by rushing a background development. Omitting this could have made "Pocong 2" a very accomplished tongue-in-cheek horror indeed. As it stands, this sort of direction should be rewarded with Hollywood contracts because Rudy Soetjarwo is too good for his handheld camcorder.
