What I loved most: Johnny Depp
What I really hated: Handheld Digital HD
I cannot find any disappointment with Johnny's performance except the bed scene. It's so hard to see Johnny's flesh, once again, they made out without taking off cloths. I like some of the scene in slow motion, especially the final sequent at the Biograph theater where Johnny was shoot dead, see how the bullets went through his face and chest and blood flowing out from his cheek.

Big names and strong cast but fails to bring out the story of Dillinger, a notorious bank robber in the 1930s. Most of the characters portrayed felt so 2-dimensional, with a small execption to Johnny Depp. It was like a bank robbery after another but with no finesse and little planning but somehow they still manage to escape the clutches of the law enforcers. Maybe as the story was set in the 30s, I found it hard to relate to it. However, the relationship between Dillinger and his girl tried to add some emotional quotient into the movie.

What I loved most: Good actors
What I really hated: Shallow, monotonous, draggy
Definitely fell short of expectations, and once again proofs that Straits Times’ reviews cannot be depended on. Did I enjoy the movie? Absolutely not! The whole movie (script, character etc.) is so shallow that I cannot help but wonder if I’d be better off reading John Dillinger’s (Johnny Depp) journal. The tone of the film was also monotonous, resulting in me dozing off at the one hour mark. Thankfully, the draggy plot meant that I didn’t missed much during my short visit to dreamland. Saving grace comes from the actors who did their parts well, though that can hardly makeup for the “empty tin-cans” characters. Definitely not worth the money nor time. Not recommended!

What I loved most: Intriguing performance by Johnny Depp
Another intriguing performance by Johnny Depp..."Public Enemies" is as straight-ahead a dramatic retelling of a gangsters life as you might get... a very strong dramatic movie on a very big scale. Shot in pin-sharp high-definition, this is one amazing-looking movie, where even the most ordinary scenes crackle with energy and suspense.
