A boyishly handsome comic actor, Sean Hayes broke through in 1998 in the leading role of the Sundance-screened "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss" and in the regular role as the best friend of a gay attorney in the NBC sitcom "Will & Grace". Raised in Glen Ellyn, a suburb of Chicago, this youngest of five began studying music as a child and while attending college supported himself as a classical pianist and a performer in a popular band. While at Illinois State University, Hayes also ventured into acting, appearing in several student productions.
