Dodge (Steve Carell) is about to face a double-crisis. His wife left him and Earth is about to be destroyed by a meteor attack. Things could not get any worse for him. Feeling lonely, Dodge comes to a decision to go on a road trip to find his high school love before the Earth comes to an end. Following him on his journey is his neighbour, Penny (Keira Knightly) who involuntarily ruins his plan.
