Superhero movie of the year

What I loved most: Solid storyline, acting and actions

What I really hated: A bit draging storyline.

The Dark Knight is the movie to watch if you plan to watch just one summer superhero movie this year. From start to finish, the film delivers solid storyline with superb acting and action scenes. While Batman Begins is more like an introduction to the franchise, The Dark Knight is an even better sequel to its prequel which can stand on its own. The film's storyline focuses on Bruce Wayne aka Batman's (CHRISTIAN BALE) fight against Gotham City's villain The Joker (the late HEATH LEDGER in an Oscar worthy performance). Apart from his nemesis, Wayne's triangle relationships with his old flame Rachel Dawes (MAGGIE GYLLENHAAL) and her new love interest Harvey Dent (AARON ECKHART) make the storyline even interesting - the plots thicken just when you think the film is almost over. Heath Ledger's acting really over shadow the film's other casts and could easily be remembered as the best villain role ever. A must watch film for this summer.

Too much hype

What I loved most: Heath Ledger's last movie

What I really hated: Voice of Bruce

It does not show much of the classic inner struggle of this "human" super hero. It tries too hard to be a total adult movie and too much weight on Heath (Joker) makes the story lose its focus on Batman. Plus, the movie is too draggy.. Well, probably I expected too much like everyone else did.

Joker wins Batman this round

What I loved most: Joker (Classic acting)

What I really hated: a bit draggy

In the storyline for this show the Good truimph over Evil but acting wise, the force is strong on the Dark side for this one. Ask anyone on the street now who is the most memorable villian in a Superhero film and I would be surprise if someone says Lex Luthor from Superman Returns. Ledger's acting as Joker is so outstanding it send chill down my spine. Unlike other Hero's movie, its really quite dark and leaves you thinking of it after the show. Batman on the other hand is at most average on this show. Maggie even worse.

Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant.

Where do I start? The story was great, considering that there couldn't have been much deviation from the batman comics. The acting was brilliant. Ledger-Joker may be overrated by many, but it is stunning nonetheless. Eckhart-Harvey dent was underrated, and his storyline was important to the flow of the plot, the role which he carried out with sensitivity and credibility. No one can ever doubt Christopher Nolan's credentials after this film, he has such a stunning resume of movies he could be a legend by the time he stops making films. The show leaves you begging for more. Definite movie of the year contender, Best movie of '08 so far and ranks right up there with last year's powerhouses: No Country and There Will Be Blood. Well done.
