Absolutely FABULOUS!

What I loved most: Nolan's script and Ledgers performance

What I really hated: Dumb bat suit

Three thousand cheers for what is probably be the most exciting franchise in comic history... a film of Godfather 2 proportions. Lets see them make another better film... I doubt anyone can top the Jokers perfomance. RIP

More than the typical superhero movie

What I really hated: it moves at a really fast pace at the beginning, which might confuse some

as echoed by many, this is simply an awesome movie suitable for the old and young alike who're in for a thrilling cinematic experience. the movie is pitched at a never ending pace of tension and action, designed to grip the audience in a way that it leaves u feeling enthralled and paralysed at the same time. why so? it more or less can be credited to the really good sound effects that complement both batman's and the joker's appearances. unlike most other superhero movies, this felt real; the joker was a human who is sick, perverse, highly intelligent, cunning, and pure evil. this is unlike most other villains in other superhero movies, who are just as good as fake computerised characters blessed with unrealistic powers. the realism in the joker's evil draws the audience much closer to his antics and thus forge a deeper understanding and connection with the villain itself. not only that, as mentioned earlier, the superb sound effects that complement his presence was really effective in pitching an unspoken awareness among the audience that something really bad was going to happen, and the way the sound effects are pitched continuously til a sky high point before the joker finishes off his victim really grips the audience's fear and leaves them paralysed by shock and disgust at the perverse cruelty of the joker. all this though could not be faciliated if not for the wonderful performance by heath ledger, who managed to strike fear in most of the audience's heart, which is rarely the case for most superhero villains. the movie also subtly compares between good & evil, with good triumphing over evil in the ships scene, and the raising of the significant idea the greatest victory of evil would be to turn the most devout good man to an evil one. it's not just a cheap superhero movie, it packs themes as well, with good & evil combating each other. with regards to views that this movie is not worthy of its appraisal as it lacks the touch of a typical slapstick superhero movie with cheesy humour and effects, i'll say that the serious realism of this movie is what sets it apart from the past superhero movies, which i'm not really a big fan of. not many would want to watch a movie with that's cheesy and shallow, the directors of the dark knight knows that and so they came up with this. with seriousness comes realism, which most would prefer except for cartoon fans.

Overhyped Hollywood Comic

What I loved most: The end when it eventually came

What I really hated: The rest of the time

Came out wondering what all the hype was about, but I realise I am in a minority of one, when I say I didn't like it at all. Just my opinion. To each his/her own. It was just too dark and lacked humour at any level. Basically the movie took itself too seriously, unlike some great spoof comic book movies and even some of the earlier BM movies. Heath Ledger did a reasonable job as the Joker, but nowhere as good as Jack Nicholson's rendition. Chrisitan Bale fell far short as the hero, he was a non-entity and lacked screen charisma, moreover when in cape, he adopted a bizarre voice disguise which sounded like a schoolboy trying to make his voice sound more manly. It was funny, but not suppposed to be. Some call this movie philisophical, presumably for the irrelevant side story when two boats full of people could have blown the other up to save themselves. But of course in real life, someone would have pushed the button within 30 seconds. Michael Caine was the star for his performance as the long suffereng butler, but he is a consummate pro. The rest of he cast were as forgettable as yesterday's lunch. Of course 90% of the planet will love it and why not? It is after all a harmless piece of fluff and not to be taken seriously at all. Just felt I wasted my time and money.

Best action and superhero movie in the history.

What I loved most: JOKER, WHAT ELSE?????

What I really hated: Hardly hints any possible chance for another sequels.

This is a movie that wants u to think, to feel, and to study. The storyline is much more complicated and interesting compare to other action and superhero movies. We have a Joker villain who appears for the purpose of destructing the order of the human modern civilization and by doing this he believes the ugly-ness of the human very nature shall be reveal. And he enjoys revealing it. His high intellegents and creativity allows him to challenge Batman with all sorts of traps, "games". This finally bring forth a few climax moments in the movie. The excitement persist alone the plot. And after finish the entire movie u r juz gonna hav a deep breath and say in ur heart "GOSH WAT A MOVIE". Also, Chris Nolan's brilliance can also be seen from the way he directed the Dark Knight movie. See, this is the fact, u dun see more than 5, mayb 3, action movies containing as much philosophical msgs as Dark Knight present in front of ur eyes. With so much teachings he combined it with all the actions and storyline linkings, he created such a masterpiece on the action film genre tat shud never be forgotten. Acting wise. Alfred, Fox, Rachel, Gordon and Harvey did their job well. Wayne is okay since most of the time he behind the mask, there is nothing much u can expect from him. And lastly the best one - Heath Ledger's Joker. Look the truth is, out of 100% who watched this movie, 99% will want Ledger to win an Oscar. And this is how good Ledger was on Joker's role. "Heath is not playing Joker, he is the Joker himself!". U juz gonna say Joker's appearance in this moive is a miracle. He is the most classic and best villain u can get in the filming history. Nolan's direction is fantastic. He played the movie's rhythm exceptionally well. U do not have a bored moment in the entire movie. Even when it is not an action scene, still Nolan is able to direct it in such a way that it give u an atmosphere of tensions and excitement so that u wish to see wat happen the next second. Visual wise. Nolan's direction and IMAX camera is super. Everything in this movie is real without a single visual effects of computerize creations. Overall, best of the best in the action film genre. Masterpiece and it shall forever be remembered in the human filming history. RIP Heath Ledger. U r superb.
