Topic thunder

What I loved most: Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise is in the Cast

What I really hated: Grumpy Show, Lots of Vulgarities

Always loved Ben Stiller comedy movies but this one i would rather give it amiss. War Scenes are so ridiculous and fake. If this movie is compared to Zohan. This movie failed terribly. Rather Disappointed.

Vicious Satire of Hollywood

What I loved most: Downey Jr. philosophizing on being a method actor

What I really hated: Stiller's and Black's performances

It's a little too long, and Stiller and Black aren't in top form. But damn, is it funny, right from the first fake trailer shown. A vicious satire of Hollywood at every level, there's so much that works here, you can easily overlook the stuff that doesn't.

Comedy Of The Year '08

What I loved most: The A List Cast, The Storyline, The Mock Trailers and Tom Cruise!

What I really hated: The 'R' word.

Ben Stiller's latest film, Tropic Thunder sure as hell doesn't dissapoint. What with an A list cast and a fresh and original storyline, you can expect the movie to be worth your $10. The storyline is about how a director and the author of the memoir (which is being made into a film) plan to drop his overly pampered and prima donna actors out into the jungle for filming after an incident on the set caused the movie to be The Most Expensive Movie Never Made. Stranded without personal assistants and technology, the actors soon realise their predicament and the fact that they are now the targets of real armed soldiers. Expect alot of laughs from the A-list cast of Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr, Matthew McConaughey and Tom Cruise. Methinks the unrecognisable Tom Cruise wearing a fat suit and shaking what his momma gave him could funnily enough, save his career.

C'mon, it's a comedy after all

What I loved most: Tom Cruise screwing the "Flaming Dragon"

What I really hated: Tom Cruise doing hip-hop (which is frigging hilarious btw)

Hey people, this is supposed to be a comedy after all. Not meant to be taken too seriously. I'd say that Ben Stiller did a wonderful job in portraying the underlying insecurities of mega-stars despite the machismo on-screen and making one hell of a joke outta it. Downey's acting was simply incredible. Apparently, the person sitting next to me was still wondering if it was Downey at the end of the show. He really is 'the dude acting as another dude'. The part which he tried to infiltrate the enemy base with his Mandarin (which sounds totally alien) was really memorable. Watch for him. Seriously though, kiddies who haven't really watch American movies in the 90's will probably find the dialogue confusing. There is after all quite a number of references to these shows. But still if you are watching the show, just sit back and enjoy the show. Don't take it too seriously. Have a sense of humor.
